Planning your retreat

Dates, reservations, and the kind of stay that fits your group.

6 questions
What kinds of groups and retreats do you host?

We welcome churches and Christian ministries for youth, women’s, men’s, family, leadership, and special-interest retreats, including quilting and scrapbooking. Your group brings its program and people; we provide retreat space, the meals included in your package, and help with planning.

Our lodging is set aside for spiritual retreats. Special events, such as weddings, may be possible in the off-season; contact us to discuss your plans.

How do we check availability and reserve a retreat?

Email retreats@singinghills.net or call 603-469-3236 with your preferred dates, approximate attendance, retreat type, church or organization’s name and mailing address, and your coordinator’s contact information.

We will check availability and prepare a contract. Once it is sent, we hold the dates for two weeks while you return the signed contract and $250 binder deposit. We cannot hold dates informally.

How far in advance can we book?

You can book up to one year ahead. Returning groups have first choice of holiday weekends. If your preferred dates are unavailable, we can suggest nearby openings and let you know if your first-choice dates become available.

Can we tour Singing Hills before booking?

Yes. In-person tours are usually available on Mondays and Thursdays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Another day may be possible by arrangement. Contact us to schedule your visit.

If you cannot visit, we can send room layouts and answer your questions by phone or email.

Do you offer personal retreats?

Yes. Individuals and families can arrange a personal retreat for quiet time with God. Personal retreats are available Sunday through Friday. Call 603-469-3236 for current rates, availability, and booking.

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. On departure day, clear your room by noon and leave the property by 2:00 PM.

Can our group visit just for the day?

Yes. Day visits cost $5 per person, per day for outdoor recreation facilities and bathrooms, or $10 per person, per day with one meeting room included. Additional meeting rooms are quoted individually.

Meals can be added at the à la carte rates: breakfast $16, lunch $17, and dinner $20 per person. Contact us with your group’s plans to arrange your visit.

Are there discounted rates for children?

For group retreat packages and campground stays, children ages 4–9 pay half price, children ages 3 and under are free, and guests ages 10 and older pay full price.

Ask us about pricing for your particular booking if you are arranging private double-occupancy rooms, a day visit, a personal retreat, or separately purchased meals.

Is there a minimum group size?

Standard group retreats require at least 10 people. Reserving a building for exclusive use has separate minimums. Campground bookings also have minimum charges based on the equivalent of 20 full-paying guests for a specified number of nights.

Contact us with your dates and group size so we can explain the minimum that applies to your stay.

Can we book a one-night group retreat?

Yes. A one-night group package is $84 per person without meals; meals may be purchased separately.

For arrivals from the third Friday in June through Columbus Day, one-night reservations can be made no more than one month before arrival. Outside that period, the one-month restriction does not apply.

Do you offer private double-occupancy packages?

Yes. With two guests per room, the package totals are:

  • 1 night with 3 meals: $200 per person, or $400 per room.
  • 2 nights with 5 meals: $250 per person, or $500 per room.

Room totals assume two full-paying guests. These packages are unavailable during peak season, June 21–August 27, 2027. Send us your dates and the number of rooms you need to check availability.

What does a campground stay cost?

Camping costs $25 per person, per night without camp-provided meals. The rate is $22 per person, per night when your group purchases at least one camp-provided meal for each night of its stay. Meals are charged separately at the à la carte rates.

Special discounted rates are available when we provide all your meals. Children ages 4–9 pay half price, and children ages 3 and under are free. Campground booking minimums apply.

Are cabins available at the campground?

We have four rustic cabins, each sleeping four people. Cabins have no electricity. Each cabin costs $25 per night, added to the per-person camping rate.

The campground also has a covered pavilion and a bathhouse with men’s and women’s facilities and a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Tent campers bring their own tents.

How do campground booking minimums work?

Minimum charges apply whenever the campground is booked. Each minimum is equivalent to:

  • Weekend: 20 full-paying guests for 2 nights, or 40 full-rate guest-nights.
  • Midweek, Monday–Friday: 20 full-paying guests for 3 nights, or 60 full-rate guest-nights.
  • Holiday or long weekend: 20 full-paying guests for 5 nights, or 100 full-rate guest-nights.

For example, 40 full-paying guests staying 3 nights total 120 guest-nights and meet the holiday minimum. Ask us to calculate your group’s minimum charge, including any children and cabin or meal charges.

8 questions
What sleeping arrangements are available?

Most rooms sleep four with two twin beds and one bunk bed. Other rooms have two twin beds or sleep 6–14 people. The Maple Ridge Chapel facility also has two 16-bed dorm rooms.

Across our buildings we have 206 beds: 122 in the Maple Ridge Chapel facility, 56 in Mountain View Lodge, and 28 in Hillside House. Of these, 142 are lower beds. We can send room layouts to help you plan assignments.

Do the bedrooms have private bathrooms?

Many do, including Mountain View Lodge rooms 1–7, several rooms in the Maple Ridge Chapel facility, and two rooms in Hillside House. Other rooms share a connecting bathroom or use a hallway bathroom.

Tell us about your group’s needs so we can help you choose suitable rooms.

Will other groups be on site, and can we reserve a building exclusively?

Other groups may stay in other buildings and share the Mountain View Lodge dining room at mealtimes. Your assigned lodging and meeting spaces are reserved for your group for the length of your stay.

Exclusive building use is available with minimum attendance requirements. Hillside House requires at least 15 guests; other building minimums depend on your dates. Contact us to discuss your group and preferred spaces.

How can we plan for guests with mobility needs?

Please discuss your guests’ needs with us before booking so we can review entrances, bedrooms, bathrooms, and travel between retreat spaces.

There is a ramp into the dining hall, wheelchair-accessible restroom stalls nearby, and an accessible bathroom in the campground bathhouse. Some lodging buildings do not have ramps, and we do not have automatic doors.

Can our group prepare its own meals?

Self-catering options are available at Hillside House and the campground. Hillside House can be booked without meals and has a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, and counter space. A charcoal grill is available at no charge; bring your own charcoal.

Our main kitchen is operated by the Singing Hills kitchen team and is unavailable for groups to use. Contact us for a quote and to discuss the cooking arrangements that fit your retreat.

Do bedrooms have heat and air conditioning?

All bedrooms have heat. Most do not have air conditioning. Every room has a box fan, and guests are welcome to bring their own fans.

The chapel and the meeting room in Mountain View Lodge are air-conditioned.

What meeting spaces and audiovisual equipment are available?

We provide a meeting room suited to your group, with tables and chairs. The chapel has a mounted projector and screen, a 12-channel sound board and speakers, wired microphones with boom stands, DI boxes and keyboard hookups, an acoustic drum set, and a mini grand piano.

A portable projector, screen, speaker, and microphone are available for other meeting rooms. Laptops connect by HDMI, so bring an adapter if needed. Wireless microphones are unavailable.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes. We can arrange access for your whole group or for leaders only, or turn off your group’s access during parts of your retreat. A separate network is available for leaders and audiovisual teams.

Tell us your preferences before arrival.

Meals & activities

Plan your meals, recreation, and optional extras.

8 questions
Which meals are included, and can we add or remove meals?

Your package lists its included meals. Weekend retreat meals begin with Saturday breakfast; Friday dinner is not offered.

Meals may be added to any overnight package at $16 per person for breakfast, $17 for lunch, and $20 for dinner. Removing an included meal reduces the package price by $5 per person, per meal. We send your menu before the retreat; discuss meal changes with us while planning.

When are meals served?

Usual serving times are breakfast 8:00–9:00 AM, lunch noon–1:00 PM, and dinner 5:00–6:00 PM.

When several groups are on site, some groups are assigned later times: breakfast 8:45–9:30 AM, lunch 12:45–1:30 PM, or dinner 5:45–6:30 PM. Lunch and dinner can often be adjusted if requested before arrival. Breakfast cannot be served before 8:00 AM.

Who should we contact about food allergies or dietary needs?

Send your group’s food allergies and dietary needs to retreats@singinghills.net early in your planning. Our kitchen team can discuss your needs and the arrangements available for your retreat.

Please confirm specific arrangements with us before sharing them with your guests.

What activities are available?

Outdoor options include a pool and pond, recreation fields, soccer and baseball fields, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground and swing set, gaga ball, 9 Square, a slip and slide, and campfire areas.

Indoor game rooms are available in the Maple Ridge Chapel facility and Hillside House. Skis and snowshoes can be rented in winter. Some activities require advance scheduling or an additional charge; tell us what your group would like to do.

How do we arrange swimming, and what does it cost?

Request pool or pond time by the deadline in your pre-arrival email so we can arrange your activity and lifeguards.

  • Pool: $60 per hour, including one lifeguard.
  • Pond: $100 per hour for full access, including the Blob, with two lifeguards.
  • Pool or pond when no lifeguard is required: $25 per hour.

A lifeguard is required for pool use if anyone in your group is under 18. Discuss your group and planned activities with us so we can confirm the appropriate arrangements.

Can we rent linens and towels?

Yes. Optional linen sets cost $10 per person and include sheets, a pillowcase, bath and hand towels, and a face cloth.

Have your group leader order sets at least two weeks before arrival. Sets ordered but unused are still charged.

Can we have a campfire?

Yes. Tell us which night or nights you would like a campfire, and we will set it up.

May we use candles or oil lamps indoors?

Candles, incense, and oil lamps are not allowed inside any building. Please keep this in mind when planning worship, prayer activities, and decorations.

14 questions

A little preparation.
More time for your people.

Which booking documents do we sign, and how do we return them?

Complete the Contract, whose first page is titled Financial Agreement, the Governing Guidelines, and the Doctrinal Agreement. Initial the bottom of every contract page and sign the last page of each document.

Email scans or clear phone photos to retreats@singinghills.net, or mail them to Singing Hills, 71 King Dr., Plainfield, NH 03781. If you cannot use the online signing link, email us for a new one and check your spam folder.

What paperwork should we send before arrival?

Email your Certificate of Liability Insurance at least one week before arrival, along with your program schedule as a Word document or PDF.

We also need the Sound Agreement and Photo Release; these can be signed when you arrive. If you order snacks or linen sets, submit those requests at least two weeks before arrival.

How do we manage participant registration and payments?

Email us to be added as a group leader for your event. The One App will email your login information so you can manage registrations and participant payments.

Share your retreat’s registration link with your participants so they can sign up and pay. Singing Hills also provides a Camper Portal.

When are our group’s deposits and final balance due?

Your $250 binder deposit is due with your signed contract within two weeks. It is nonrefundable and counts toward your retreat bill.

A second deposit is due 180 days before arrival. It is 20% of the estimated retreat cost after subtracting the $250 binder deposit. For example, an estimated cost of $2,780 gives a second deposit of $506.

The remaining balance is due before your group leaves on its last day. Contact us for the deposit schedule if booking within 180 days of arrival.

When is our final headcount due?

Your confirmation letter gives the exact deadline, usually about one week before arrival. Count guests ages 10 and older separately from children ages 4–9.

Use that deadline when planning your group’s registration closing date.

Can we add guests after submitting our final headcount?

Yes. Send us your updated count as soon as you know more guests will attend, so we can plan for the change. Please check with us about any applicable charges before confirming late additions.

How should we list day guests or people eating only some meals?

Mark these guests as day passes on your registration sheet and list the meals each person will eat. Day-pass pricing applies once your group has met the minimum in your contract.

Can someone else be our on-site contact?

Yes. If the organizer cannot attend, send us the on-site contact’s name and phone number before arrival. Our team will work with that person during your stay.

How do we arrange our meeting-room setup?

Tell us how many people will use the meeting room and how you would like the tables and chairs arranged. Share your audiovisual needs before arrival so we can prepare your space.

If your laptop needs an HDMI adapter, bring it with you.

When can leaders and guests arrive, and when do we leave?

Group check-in begins at 4:00 PM. Leaders may arrive as early as 10:00 AM to set up; early arrival is for leaders only. Please check with us which spaces will be available for early setup.

On departure day, clear bedrooms by noon and leave the property by 2:00 PM.

Where do we check in?

Check in at the registration building. Your group leader picks up wristbands for everyone in the group.

Who can help us during our stay?

Our Guest Services team is available by radio 24 hours a day for help during your stay.

What housekeeping is provided during a retreat?

For week-long stays, our team visits twice during the week to empty trash and replace bathmats. For shorter retreats, fresh bathmats are set out halfway through your stay.

Can we order snacks for our group?

Yes. Send your completed snack order form at least two weeks before arrival. Contact Guest Services for the current choices and pricing.
